Džaferović: Palmer said Kosovo's status has nothing to do with BiH

(Patria) - Šefik Džaferović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said today after the meeting of the Presidency members with Matthew Palmer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the USA, that it was emphasized at this meeting that Kosovo's status has nothing to do with the status of neighboring countries.

Džaferović said that the meeting was very useful and that Bosnia and Herzegovina "received support".

"A very useful meeting, a meeting with our friend and strategic partner. We received support and an appeal to be committed to the reform path. That the citizens of this country are looking for a future here in BiH, not outside BiH. What was among the specific issues was the discussion regarding the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement," Džaferović explained.

Then he also spoke about other topics of this meeting.

"The second issue mentioned at this meeting is human trafficking. At the next session of the Presidency, we will have this as a special topic. The third thing that was mentioned is the issue of BiH's participation in military exercises with NATO and EUFOR. The Presidency had a significant role in this and will continue to do so. Some exercises are planned again for 2022," he added.

"The fourth thing that was also mentioned and which is very important, and that is the issue of relations and dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, relations with other countries and states in the region. It was clearly stated that this process has nothing to do with the countries in the region and concerns only Belgrade and Pristina," said Džaferović.
