Duško Vujošević's toe amputated

The coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the most decorated strategist in Partizan's history had the ring finger of his left foot surgically removed due to the onset of gangrene, to prevent further complications, reports Patria agency.

Vujošević told Kurir sport that he feels well.

- In the end, it turned out that surgical intervention was necessary due to gangrene. This procedure does not affect functionality or stability. With the treatments I've had recently in the hyperbaric chamber, the condition was localized and prevented from spreading further, but the toe still had to be removed. This reduced the risk of greater danger. The procedure was performed by Dr. Lazar Davidović from the Clinical Center of Serbia - Vujošević told Kurir and added:

- I feel well, although, of course, I wish this hadn't happened. However, this is for the best.

We remind you that Vujošević was urgently transferred to Belgrade from Slovakia, where he kicked a table during the match between Slovakia and BiH. That part turned blue, and Slovak doctors suggested he undergo treatment in a hyperbaric chamber.

This brought about certain improvements, but due to diabetes, it was assessed that surgery was the best solution at this time.

- The recovery is expected to take the usual time for such cases. What is certain is that I will not be able to participate in the KS BiH coaching seminar, scheduled for October 13. I feel well and expect the recovery to go according to plan. And I expect to lead the BiH national team in the qualifiers for the 2019 World Cup - Vujošević stated immediately after the amputation.
