Duraković: Electoral engineering in Srebrenica, Grujičić mostly conducts campaign in Serbia!

Less than 20 days before the elections, it is becoming clear that the coalition of Serb parties gathered around Milorad Dodik has decided to take power in Srebrenica at any cost – and with numerous violations of the law.

- For months, I have been warning about fictitious registrations of Serbian citizens who will come to Srebrenica on election day to choose our government, which has not met with any reaction from the Central Election Commission. No one is reacting to the fact that the candidate of Serb parties for mayor, Mladen Grujičić, is mostly conducting his election campaign in Serbia, nor to the announcements of organized transport for voters from Serbia.

While SNSD is unhinderedly preparing electoral engineering for October 2nd, these days numerous people from Podrinje in the diaspora are contacting me who still haven't received their ballots, and upon checking the central voter registry, they found that their residential addresses in the CEC's database are unknown addresses in Serbia! Given that this is a very serious criminal offense, I hereby call on all citizens of Srebrenica and Podrinje who have registered to vote and have not received materials from the CEC to check the central voter registry to see where they are registered, and to inform my election headquarters of any irregularities. We will report all irregularities to the CEC and the competent judicial authorities.

At the same time, I want to draw the public's attention to the accusations that have appeared in some media against Bosniak parties of buying votes for me. These lies fabricated in Banja Luka are refuted by the situation on the ground, where more and more Bosniaks are complaining that they are being offered money for votes for the Serb candidate. In these cases as well, I ask all citizens – regardless of nationality – to report all attempts at vote-buying to the police.

As the Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality, I feel responsible for the election process to proceed in a fair and honest atmosphere. No matter how much effort SNSD invests to silence the voice of the people in the Republika Srpska entity, I will do everything to ensure that on October 2nd, all citizens of Srebrenica are enabled to realize their democratic rights – stated Ćamil Duraković, Mayor of Srebrenica Municipality.
