(Patria) - Former Montenegrin president and DPS member Milo Đukanović said that he sincerely regrets and sympathizes with the families of the victims and survivors of the Srebrenica genocide, the darkest page in the post-war history of our region and Europe.
"It is deeply concerning that even after 28 years there are those on the public scene who deny or relativize the genocide, silence hate speech and calls for revisionism, and glorify war criminals. Unfortunately, we are witnessing such devastation of values in our society as well," Đukanović stated.
He added that genuine reconciliation can only rest on full truth, justice, and acceptance of responsibility.
"The truth about the past is the path to a peaceful, stable, and prosperous future," Đukanović concluded.
