(Patria) - The current Montenegrin president and president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Milo Đukanović voted today at his polling station in Podgorica.
Accompanied by his wife and son, Đukanović arrived at a school in Podgorica around 12 o'clock and performed his civic duty.
He told the large number of media present that he believes in his victory enough not to even think about what would happen if he lost the election.
- I expect a regular election process, it is important that all citizens can express their electoral will, and I believe that will be the case.
This is a good moment for Montenegro to announce its return to the path of European development, a new and better time is beginning in which Montenegro will show its character - Đukanović told the gathered media, reports Nova.rs.
When asked about relations with Serbia, he emphasized that they currently depend on Montenegro's neighbor, which is trying to interfere in the country's internal processes.
- Relations with Serbia will be as they should be and as they are with other neighbors. Of course, they can be better, as far as I'm concerned, we absolutely have an open door.
Serbia will have to change its attitude towards its neighbors, especially Montenegro, where it is trying to regulate the lives of Serbs, but that must be done by the state of Montenegro.
We have never even tried to interfere in regulating the lives of our citizens in other countries.
Respect the state and what it is, and you are welcome here and will get what you expect, but not at the expense of Montenegro's statehood - Đukanović said, adding that he is not thinking about defeat, but that he will congratulate his opponent in that case.
Let us remind you that the second round of presidential elections is being held in Montenegro today, in which Đukanović will face the candidate of the Europe Now Movement, Jakov Milatović.
