Dodik 'praises' Vučić: He achieved the maximum under impossible conditions

(Patria) - The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the efforts of the international community to significantly increase pressure for the resolution of Balkan issues during the conflict in Ukraine are visible, because now, as he claims, they "do not have to consider Russia's stance even minimally".

Dodik emphasized that one of these issues is the relationship between Belgrade and Pristina and the attempt to quickly achieve the results expected by the international community, which is why they offered the Franco-German agreement on a "take it or leave it" basis.

– According to their logic, once they resolve that, they will turn their attention to Republika Srpska in order to, again, secure the BiH they want for them. In such a created atmosphere, the position of Serbia, i.e., President Aleksandar Vučić, is very difficult and complex. Either accept and sign what we want, or you are guilty, which means you must be punished – Dodik pointed out.

He emphasizes that in this case, something new has happened with the EU, which declares an unsigned agreement valid and thus exerts additional pressure.

– The EU and Albin Kurti on one side, united and persistent, and President Vučić alone, left to his own abilities. The only tactic he could choose was 'I want to, but I don't' and I think he successfully manifested it. He certainly won't say it, nor would it be useful, but anyone who follows the international negotiation process should notice it. That is why I think that President Vučić achieved the maximum under impossible circumstances – Dodik told Tanjug.

He adds that the EU has declared Vučić's "let's talk" as a success, claiming it succeeded even without a signature, while Vučić, as he says, with a carefully chosen tactic that they can negotiate alleged solutions for normalization, clearly stated that there is no recognition and no membership in the UN.

– The epilogue is clear – there is no agreement because it was not signed, and that job is far from finished. Now the EU is asking for an implementation plan to be created for an unsigned agreement, meaning to implement a legally non-binding agreement – Dodik explained.

He adds that the EU's External Action Service published the text of an "unsigned and unaccepted agreement" and thus gave strength to various spin campaigns about that agreement.

– That is why the EU hopes to reach an agreement on the implementation plan for the illegal agreement at the meeting in Ohrid, in order to obtain any legally binding form for Belgrade and Pristina – said Dodik.
