Dodik continues his way: BiH is a place where I have to live, my country is RS and Serbia

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, told RTS that peace, stability, and cooperation are the key messages sent on January 9 from the academy marking the Day of RS. It would be interesting for the referendum in RS to be held in the spring, Dodik stated, reports the Patria News Agency.

Guesting on the show Upitnik, Milorad Dodik said that another key message is the respect for the existing constitutional order.

“This also includes good cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Republika Srpska, which no one can dispute. And respect for peace in the region,” Dodik emphasized.

The President of RS said that January 9 will continue to be celebrated as the Day of Republika Srpska in the coming years.

“The Constitutional Court consists of nine members: two Serbs, two Croats, two Bosniaks, and three foreigners, and decisions are made by a majority. Otherwise, all decisions are always made by Bosniaks and foreigners,” Dodik emphasized, adding that efforts have been made for years to abolish the values of RS.

According to him, the fact is that RS was formed on January 9, 1992, when there was no war, before the armed conflicts.

Dodik emphasized that the patron saint’s day of Republika Srpska should not be a problem for Bosniaks or Croats, who, as he says, are always invited and have never been discriminated against.

“The celebration of the patron saint’s day was outside the celebration procedures. As for the Day of RS, you could see at the academy – it was not a celebration of the saint’s day. It was a story about the holiday, about history. The patron saint’s day was celebrated after the reception,” Dodik pointed out.

As he said, foreigners in BiH are not necessary and not everything has to function in the existing way.

“BiH is an impossible country. The concept on which BiH was founded as a consequence of Yugoslavia is impossible,” the President of RS noted.

Dodik said he thinks it would be interesting for a referendum in Republika Srpska on the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to be held in the spring, perhaps at the end of April.

At the end of 2015, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina declared the Day of RS, i.e., a part of the Law on Holidays of Republika Srpska, unconstitutional and ordered the National Assembly of RS to amend the disputed provisions.

“BiH is a necessity, not a desire or love”

Milorad Dodik said that BiH is a state community, and state competencies at all levels are held by RS and the Federation of BiH.

“BiH is a necessity, not a desire or love. This is about the essence – BiH is a complex state community, and I am only asking for what is written in the constitution,” Dodik emphasized.

He added that BiH cannot exist historically and that it was a strategic mistake in 1995.

“My country is Republika Srpska and Serbia, and BiH is a place where I have to live,” Dodik emphasized.

According to him, SIPA is rigged to be a coordination body and cannot conduct searches on the territory of RS without an agreement.

“I was richer before than I am now. That story is just for the people. If I were afraid, I would say: Here you go, take what you want. That would be the reaction of a man who is afraid. I do not feel responsible because I have no guilt,” Dodik said.

Answering the question why he does not communicate with the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Mladen Ivanić, Dodik said that he communicated with him, but, as he says, unnecessarily.

“Ivanić is a conformist who does what he does and presents it as he wants. I said it is pointless to talk to a man who can do nothing for RS,” Dodik emphasized.

Recalling the British resolution on Srebrenica, which was not voted on in the Security Council due to Russia's veto, Dodik said that BiH should have adopted a common stance on it, which it did not.

I am paying off the loan for the villa in Dedinje by renting it out

Milorad Dodik says he paid for the villa in Dedinje by taking out a loan from Pavlović bank.

“Komercijalna banka was selling it in bankruptcy, and I came into a position to have information about it,” Dodik said.

Answering the question whether he paid for the villa in 2007 or 2008, the President of RS said that there was no need for him to know the exact year.

“Today, this loan is being paid off by renting it out. The rent covers the loan installment. There is no problem for me to respond to investigative bodies,” Dodik emphasized.
