Dodik meets Vučić: Who is calling for an armed conflict in BiH

BELGRADE, (Patria) - After the meeting between BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, only Dodik gave a statement to the media, emphasizing that they discussed various topics. 

When asked how he views the announcement of a new lawsuit by BiH against Serbia for genocide, Milorad Dodik says that they in BiH would be overjoyed if Republika Srpska did not exist, but that they also cannot "see" Serbia, even though they sometimes try to say something different in diplomatic discourse. Republika Srpska, Dodik claims, is a thorn in the side of BiH, and at meetings in Sarajevo, he feels hatred towards both Serbia and Srpska.

"Republika Srpska is a thorn in their side and they are doing everything they can and have a developed strategy on how to eliminate Serbia so that it cannot help Serbs in Srpska, and they, God forbid, as they said earlier, want to arm themselves sufficiently and try to resolve that issue militarily," said Dodik.

He points out that this is, of course, not possible, because there would be no legitimacy for any engagement of the BiH army. He explains that this would require a decision from the BiH Presidency.

"And the police of one entity cannot enter the territory of another entity according to Dayton without consent, and that indicates that if someone wants to resolve problems in that way, they must know that an illegitimate incursion into the territory of RS would certainly legitimize Serbia's right to be there as a guarantor of Dayton," said Dodik.

Dodik and Vučić also discussed Kosovo, and Dodik reiterated that he also spoke about the status of RS to American diplomat Matthew Palmer during his visit to Sarajevo. 

"For Palmer, Republika Srpska and Kosovo are incomparable, for me they are comparable. I told him that our position is that they are comparable. Someone cannot have some rights, and someone have no rights at all," said Dodik.
