A new school building has been constructed on the foundations of the old school, completely destroyed during the floods in May 2014. The funds for the construction were provided by the Government of Serbia and the UNDP.

The Minister of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska, Dane Malešević, and the Minister of Labour and Veterans' Affairs, Milenko Savanović, will also attend the ceremony.

The gathering of officials is scheduled for 11:00 AM, while the opening ceremony is planned for 12:00 PM, as announced by the municipality of Šamac.

After visiting the school premises and the singing of the anthems of Republika Srpska and Serbia, the Mayor of Šamac, Savo Minić, will address the attendees at 12:30 PM, followed by Dodik and Vučić.

The cultural and artistic program will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a joint cocktail reception for guests in the school premises.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said yesterday that Republika Srpska and Serbia will always cooperate closely, regardless of the relations on certain issues, when it comes to politics.

He stated that Serbia invested money in the school in Šamac, as well as in Doboj, with the desire to help overcome the consequences of the 2014 floods.

- I am going to Šamac to see what has been done, what that school looks like in which we invested funds, because it is good for those children and I believe that everyone in Posavina will be happy about the opening of that school - Vučić told reporters in Belgrade yesterday.
