Dodik and Vučić: The Kosovo issue cannot be resolved without all Serbs

(Patria) - The session of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) was held today in Belgrade. The session was attended by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, at the invitation of Patriarch Irinej.

Dodik said that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss all issues most openly and that it is good and useful to conduct dialogue and conversation at this level and to establish common positions without which no important issue can be resolved.

"It was easier for me than for Vučić. It is important that we finally reached some agreement and that it is important to maintain dialogue, which should not be conducted in public, but through open discussion in this format. I am grateful to everyone. All state and national policy issues were discussed. There were no hidden topics. This was a serious conversation. Without common factors, all Serbs, an important issue like Kosovo cannot be resolved. This eparchy operates in the territory of three countries, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro, and perhaps Republika Srpska, if we consider Republika Srpska as a state. That is the fourth," said Dodik. 

Vučić said that he will continue to fight to achieve the maximum for the Serbian people in Kosovo, but that he will not agree to any blackmail, and thanked the patriarch, bishops, and Dodik.

"We agreed that we should respect differences but also our mutual relations. We also talked about relations with Republika Srpska. We also talked about the fact that we are losing many people in Serbia every day and that these are things we must work on. It seems to me that we have established a relationship in the discussion with some bishops. I spoke honestly, openly, and with warnings, and some bishops noticed that we were not in agreement. I would not like for what happened in the past to happen to us again," said Vučić.
