Direct Control of Milošević's Regime: General Mladić Reported to Belgrade on the Battlefield Situation in BiH

Hague indictee General Ratko Mladić sent a report to the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army on May 17, 1994, on the battlefield situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mladić signed this report as the commander of the Main Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska, writes Patria.

A month later, by decree of FRY President Zoran Lilić dated June 16, 1994, Mladić was exceptionally promoted to the rank of Colonel General. At that time, he was the commander of the Main Staff of the 30th Personnel Center of the Yugoslav Army.

Ratko Mladić never interrupted his service in the Yugoslav Army from 1976 until 2002. His military and civilian superiors were in Belgrade even during the aggression against BiH, during which genocide was committed.

The report published by the Patria news agency testifies that Slobodan Milošević's regime at the time controlled the army and, as proven during Momčilo Perišić's trial, aided the aggression, genocide, and committed crimes in every possible way.

In a strictly confidential report from May 1994, Mladić informed the General Staff of the Yugoslav Army about the "overview of enemy forces, personnel strength in the VRS, overview of basic combat assets, and the Muslim war industry.".

This report is one of numerous that unequivocally confirm that Milošević's regime at the time was directly involved in genocide and crimes. Is this one of the pieces of evidence that can help in filing a revision of Bosnia and Herzegovina's lawsuit against Serbia before the International Court of Justice in The Hague, for which the deadline expires at the end of this month?

By the judgment of the International Court of Justice in 2007, Serbia was convicted as the first and only country in the world to have violated the Genocide Convention. It did nothing to prevent the genocide in Srebrenica, nor to punish the perpetrators afterwards.

This judgment did not prove that the Belgrade regime was involved in the Srebrenica genocide. The deadline for filing a revision of the lawsuit expires at the end of February. Serbia, which wants to remove the dark stain from the 1992-1995 period, will also exercise its right to revision, according to unofficial information.

Establishment of the 30th Personnel Center of the VJ

Momčilo Perišić (acquitted by the Hague Tribunal) signed Order (3087-1) on November 15, 1993, based on the "order of the President of the FRY dated November 10, 1993," which established the 30th Personnel Center.

Vojislav Koštunica, President of Yugoslavia, issued an order marked "official secret - strictly confidential" on March 23, 2001, abolishing the 30th Personnel Center of the VJ.
