MONTENEGRO Democratic Front extinguished: Political conflicts and new coalition negotiations

(Patria) - Eleven years after its founding, the Democratic Front is being extinguished as a political alliance formed in 2012. The Movement for Changes will no longer be part of this grouping, and the leader of PzP, Nebojša Medojević, said that after their withdrawal, the Democratic Front can no longer use that name, writes Caffe del Montenegro (CdM.me).

As CdM reported yesterday, this grouping fell apart due to positions on the parliamentary list.

According to CdM's sources, one of the problems that culminated and led to the dissolution of the alliance is that the leader of DNP, Milan Knežević, was irritated by the demand that the President of the DF-PzP Parliamentary Club, Branko Radulović, and Branka Bošnjak must be placed on the list of projected safe parliamentary seats, along with an additional mandate for PzP besides these two. Additionally, PzP believed that, due to everything they had politically "sacrificed," they deserved more seats on the parliamentary list than DNP.

According to CdM's sources, Knežević did not like this idea and refused it. Also, DNP believed that on that quota which would belong to PzP, a younger generation name must be included, with Nikola Bajčetić being mentioned as a candidate, but he would have to be among the two names offered to PzP.

However, that is not all.

There are also political conflicts within DF between the New Serbian Democracy and DNP.

The younger forces of Nova proposed going to the elections independently, without forming a coalition with Milan Knežević's party, in order to measure the political strength of DNP, which is unknown to the public. The younger forces of Nova also did not like the idea that one of DNP's leading figures, Predrag Bulatović, would remain on that party's list, believing it was time for changes there as well and for new forces to emerge.

CdM's sources also say that one of the reasons for the "collapse" within DF is the plan for the Front to negotiate after the elections about a possible coalition with the Europe Now Movement, where Medojević and the Movement for Changes would be an obstacle due to Medojević's fierce attacks and criminal charges against the leader of PES, Milojko Spajić.
