MONTENEGRO, (Patria) - "We are grateful to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for his concern about Montenegro. However, we think it is best for him to focus his entire attention on protecting the health and well-being of the citizens of Serbia. We will manage. Fortunately, there are still countries and markets where it is possible to buy the necessary products with our money," said the President of the National Coordination Body for the Fight against Infectious Diseases, Milutin Simović.
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that the accusations that Serbia confiscated ventilators for Montenegro are untrue and that they are ready to donate them to Montenegro.
Simović pointed out that there are countries where it is possible to contract with their trading companies to purchase goods produced in third countries, and, as he added, they are not confiscated from you as happened to us with ventilators on the Serbian market.
Simović also wrote that "we are especially grateful for the announced addition of two ventilators that Aleksandar Vučić would donate to us based on the agreement with the leader of NSD".
"We assume this is an expression of concern for the allegedly endangered Serb people in Montenegro. There is no need for that. We do not calibrate medical equipment in Montenegro according to national frequencies," the statement reads.
Montenegro is a responsible and organized civic state that is capable of providing the maximum possible level of healthcare to every citizen, even in the most difficult circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, the statement concludes.
