COVID IN BIH 1,844 Samples Tested, 233 New Cases

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the past 24 hours, 1,844 samples were tested in Bosnia and Herzegovina, of which 233 are positive for COVID-19.

The Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH reported 1,310 samples, of which 174 are positive for SARS-CoV-2.

New cases have been registered in all cantons/counties in the Federation of BiH.

A total of 153,249 samples have been tested so far, and SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed in 17,380 people.

As of today, 13,323 patients have recovered in the Federation of BiH, and recovery was recorded in 126 patients in the past 24 hours. There are currently 3,560 active cases positive for SARS-CoV-2.

Six new deaths have been reported to the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH in the past 24 hours. Four people died in the past 24 hours, two men from Zenica and Lukavac, as well as two women from Zenica, while two deaths are from the previous period.

As of today, the total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 497, of which 327 are men and 170 are women.

Since the last report on the epidemiological situation in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska, in the last 24 hours, 534 laboratory samples were tested at the Institute of Public Health, the University Clinical Center, the University Hospital in Foča, and the hospitals of St. Vračevi in Bijeljina and St. Apostol Luka in Doboj, and the new coronavirus has been confirmed in 59 people.

These are 34 males and 25 females, of whom 15 are younger, 33 middle-aged, and 11 are elderly.

By place of residence, 25 people are from Banja Luka, five from Šipovo, four from Trebinje, three each from Zvornik and Foča, two each from Bijeljina, Čajniče, Modriča, and Nevesinje, and one each from Gacko, Rogatica, Petrovo, Doboj, Čelinac, Mrkonjić Grad, Laktaši, Gradiška, Ribnik, Novi Grad, and Kotor Varoš.

In the last 24 hours, one death has been reported to the Institute of Public Health of RS.

So far, 9,107 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in RS, and a total of 297 people have died who tested positive for the new coronavirus.

A total of 6,098 people have recovered from the new coronavirus so far, and a total of 77,728 people have been tested.

The total number of hospitalized is 172, 54 at the University Clinical Center, and 118 in general hospitals.

In the smaller BiH entity, 3,882 people are currently under health supervision, and supervision has been completed for 59,140 people.
