Dragan Čović ceremonially opened his office as the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency in Mostar, with a blessing from a bishop, reports the Patria news agency.
On the other hand, the fact is that the Presidency building in Sarajevo is leaking, and the Konak residence has been deteriorating for years and requires urgent renovation, but none of this stopped Čović from fulfilling his intention and ceremonially opening his office in Mostar instead of finding a solution for the renovation of the existing facilities.
It is obvious that Čović has a lot of work in Mostar, so he had to open an office in this city on Nikola Šubić Zrinski Promenade using the money of BiH citizens.
In addition to Čović, the member of the BiH Presidency from the RS, Mladen Ivanić, also has an office in Banja Luka. As early as 1996, Momčilo Krajišnik had his office in East Sarajevo.
Borislav Paravac continued this practice, who, in addition to his office in the BiH Presidency, also had "branches" in Lukavica and Banja Luka. Of course, all expenses are at the expense of the Budget, i.e., the citizens of BiH.
After Ivanić took over the mandate of the BiH Presidency member, the cabinet of RS President Milorad Dodik requested Ivanić's eviction from the RS Palace, and a new space was found for the cabinet of the BiH Presidency member.
In accordance with the Rules of Procedure, regular and emergency sessions of the collective head of state are held in Sarajevo, in the premises of the Presidency, unless a decision is made to hold the session elsewhere.
Now it should be expected that such a decision will indeed be made, and it is possible that Bakir Izetbegović, Dragan Čović, and Mladen Ivanić will also convene in Mostar and Banja Luka, because it is only a matter of time before Čović and Ivanić "complain" about constantly coming to Izetbegović.
On the principle of rotation, a little here, a little there!? Maybe that won't be so bad, and along the way, Izetbegović and Čović can hand-wash their four-wheelers, because the decision to perform this activity in Mostar was made, and the job worth more than 4,000 KM excluding VAT was awarded to the company "Guma M".
Although we officially requested from the BiH Presidency data on how much the construction and furnishing of the offices in Mostar and Banja Luka cost, and what will happen to them after the mandate of the current BiH Presidency members expires, we did not receive a response.
But, judging by the appearance of the office that was ceremonially opened today, tens of thousands of KM were spent. Only members and elected officials of the HDZ attended this ceremonial act, and interestingly, no Bosniak or Serb representatives were present at the opening, so it can soon be expected that party collegiums will begin to be held intensively in this office.
Honestly, this practice has also become established in the Presidency building, so almost all heated meetings of coalition partners (SDA, SBB, HDZ) were held in this building, again at the expense of citizens.
Given that HDZ and Čović failed in their idea to relocate the FBiH Government to Mostar (although some ministries are located there), he found a way to send a message that Mostar is the Croatian cathedral city!
Analyzing the work of the Presidency members so far, few have failed to notice that never before has it been emphasized in this way and to this extent which people a Presidency member comes from. Now, rarely does any statement not contain the term "member of the Presidency from the RS" or "member of the Presidency from the Croatian people, Bosniak people."
And while Bosniaks swear by the unity and strength of Bosniak unification, they seem not to see the ever-increasing and stronger disintegration of the state. While Bosniaks are "unifying," Croatian and Serbian political representatives are strengthening their local communities in every way, at the expense of the state.
