The decision of the Mostar City Council from June last year abolished street names in this city after NDH Ustasha officials, replacing them with names of celebrated and universally accepted Mostar heroes.
Street names - Mile Budak, Vokić and Lorković, Đuro Spužević, commander Ivo Zelenika, Rafael Boban, Jure Francetić are no longer part of Mostar. And that is more than good. However, it is not good that the leader of the Croatian Democratic Union, Dragan Čović, received congratulations for the purge of Ustasha officials, not the City Council, which made the decision to remove them.
A good part of that council, in this and previous convocations, had long called for these streets to be removed, with the remark that fascism has no place in a city that was destroyed by fascism in the nineties. However, NDH officials persisted on the streets of the city on the Neretva until the political and economic interests of Dragan Čović were called into question.
And when that happened, Čović sold the NDH "heroes" of the HDZ for Israeli money and influence. There is no doubt that the Israeli businessman, the owner of Aluminij, and as things are going, the future owner of Herzegovina, played a role in all of this. For his sake and for the sake of the former Israeli ambassador, Čović ordered the HDZ party soldiers in the Mostar City Administration, including Mayor Mario Kordić, that the Ustashas must leave Mostar.
Then, congratulations came from Israel to Dragan Čović for such an act, and they thanked him. Either they didn't know or they intentionally omitted, but the Israeli congratulations did not include the political representatives of Mostar who had been fighting against Budak and the rest of the NDH-azis for years unsuccessfully. That fight was unsuccessful until Čović decided to sell them for Israeli shekels and political support in the fight for the third entity.
That there is nothing anti-fascist in Čović and his HDZ, nor a shred of empathy for the victims of criminal regimes under the Croatian flag, is shown by every statement of his cadres about criminals from the Croatian people.
Čović loves criminals; he himself was at the reception of Dario Kordić, a convicted war criminal who served his sentence. Čović's superior, Andrej Plenković, loves Ante Pavelić and almost cried at the grave of Gojko Šušak.
The leading figure of the HDZ in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lidija Bradara, recently explained to us nicely, in an NDH manner, that convicted war criminals are no longer war criminals after serving their sentence. It was then that we understood why Budak, Francetić, and the gang survived for half a century on the streets of Mostar, wounded by fascism.
Bradara loves Kordić; a friend is a friend, even with blood up to his elbows. That's probably why she's trying to impose the idea on us that he's no longer a war criminal. Because it is an old practice in the HDZ to "arrange" a friend, whether in an administrative, supervisory, or some other position, it doesn't matter. And Lidija cannot help her friend Dario; the problem is the sentence that, to her regret, is ongoing.
In the manner of a top spin doctor, the minister in Nermin Nikšić's imposed government, Sanja Vlaisavljević, enters the television scene. Watch this, the Minister of Culture and Sports. And here she comes with the story - Kordić is now a fine person, because what will the HDZ do with its convicted war criminals, how will they "accommodate" them if they are still considered war criminals?
And Sanja, hungry for Sarajevo pork, says: "What will we do with war criminals after they serve their sentences? They must be rehabilitated." Before I say anything, I am very curious what the senders of Israeli congratulations think about this issue. Do they also believe that all those fascist generals and politicians who, to a greater or lesser extent, persecuted Jews, should be rehabilitated because they either 'died' or presumably served their sentence.
And history shows that any rehabilitation of criminals is preparation for new crimes. Kordić cannot be rehabilitated, nor can anyone like him. Kordić led an operation in which babies were burned; such individuals, after serving their sentence, should be sent to a mental health institution and not released for the rest of their lives.
But neither Sanja nor Lidija speak on their own; they speak the language of Dragan Čović, and he speaks the language of Andrej Plenković (alias Ante Pavelić). Because as long as Plenković needs Israeli help in resolving the "issue" of Bosnian Croats, and Čović needs money, they will be willing to renounce their ancestors in NDH uniforms.
On the other hand, Kordić and those like him are needed as national heroes, as Tuđman's soldiers (read: criminals), so that the people believe and support the two-faced HDZ. Because such soldiers are promoted to the Croatian people, especially in Bosnia, as heroes. And that inevitably produces replicas of those soldiers for some new confrontations in an attempt to expand Croatia to the borders of the Banovina.
And at the same time, Jews are no longer their victims; they were exterminated by them. Neither are Serbs; they were cleansed from the territory of the Republic of Croatia, as well as largely from the territory ruled by Dragan Čović.
Muslims are their problem now, who need to be cleansed from the areas where they hinder the realization of the dream of the Banovina. And for that, they need Kordićs. And of course, money and international aid. That's why they decided to sell Francetić and keep Tuđman's criminal Kordić.
In conclusion, Plenković and Čović cannot distance themselves from Tuđman's criminals because their policies are actually successors to Franjo Tuđman's policies!
