Member of Croatia's National Security Committee: HDZ acts hostile towards Bosnia and Herzegovina

ZAGREB, (Patria) - Member of the Committee on Internal Policy and National Security in the Croatian Parliament Branimir Bunjac told the Patria news agency that before any serious moves, the statement on Croatian intelligence activities against Bosnia and Herzegovina should first be verified, although, Bunjac said, it is evident that the Croatian state is acting hostile towards Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We cannot take a stance on that now, Bunjac said, but added that „the policy of the HDZ, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Croatia, is hostile towards Sarajevo.

„That policy is primarily hostile towards Bosniaks. It is clear that the same policy sees an ally in Dodik's Republika Srpska, as shown by a series of events, from attending the decoration of a war criminal to avoiding condemnation of the Chetnik formation in Višegrad ...“, Bunjac said.

„It is quite clear that Croatian politics has found its ally in Republika Srpska and that their goal is interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina“, added Bunjac, a member of the Living Wall party and a parliamentary representative.

„If Croatian policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina were sincere, then we could ignore such statements, but when you have all these earlier connotations, it is quite normal for people to suspect that these latest developments are also part of a hellish plan“, Bunjac said, adding that the HDZ's policy is the biggest foreign policy mistake of the Republic of Croatia, which „must stop immediately.“

Žurnal reported that intelligence officers and diplomats of the Republic of Croatia attempted at least twice to recruit members of the Salafi movement from Bosnia and Herzegovina to transport weapons and explosives to mosques in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The goal, as stated in documents held by BiH security agencies, which the magazine cites, was to confirm through these actions the accusations of Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, who claimed that „BiH is a hotbed of terrorism“.

The media reports on Croatian intelligence activities against Bosnia and Herzegovina were also confirmed by BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić.
