Number of infected in Croatia rises to 65, two more doctors infected

CROATIA, (Patria) - The number of people infected with coronavirus in Croatia is 65, and two more doctors have been infected, confirmed the Minister of Health of Croatia, Vili Beroš.

It is about one infected doctor at KBC Zagreb, and another from the Vrapče hospital.

So far, 1,014 tests for the coronavirus have been performed, some of which are still ongoing, and 630 contacts are under surveillance, the minister said.

"We believe that this epidemiological picture is good under the given circumstances. It is certain that the number of infected may rise. We have established a number of testing centers, but we are not increasing the number because the profession has said so. We are testing enough. We are taking care of quarantines and taking important measures there, with a constant appeal to people to behave more responsibly," said Minister of Health Vili Beroš at a press conference of the Headquarters.

Minister of the Interior Davor Božinović again called on citizens to respect the rules of self-isolation.

"We received 533 reports of violations, 93 people were sanctioned," said Božinović and announced that controls of self-isolation will be intensified.

"Our decisions will be implemented along all lines of work. This means that we will activate all civil protection headquarters today so that decisions can be implemented immediately. The first decision will be a decision by which we will try to limit the movement of elderly people, i.e., do everything so that they do not leave their apartments and homes without urgent need. We will start with that immediately," said Božinović.
