Brnabić: Serbia is not interfering in Montenegro's internal affairs in any way

(Patria) - Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić stated that Serbia is not interfering in Montenegro's internal affairs in any way and that she feels it is her duty as Prime Minister to respond to the claims made by the country's president, Milo Đukanović, Beta reported.

Milo Đukanović stated that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Serbia's current policy have "shown very problematic intentions" towards Montenegro and that since the adoption of the Law on Freedom of Religion in December, there has been a strong media-political aggression from Belgrade, "from everyone".
In a written statement, Brnabić assessed that this is an attempt at political deception that Đukanović is using "to explain the reasons for his party's election results".

"In the past eight years, Aleksandar Vučić has mentioned Montenegro and Milo Đukanović fewer times than Đukanović has mentioned Serbia and Vučić in this one interview alone, and each time, as on so many occasions before, in a negative context," Brnabić emphasized.

She stressed that the fact that Đukanović cannot deny is that Serbia is not interfering in Montenegro's internal affairs in any way and has not influenced the electoral process in that country.

"There is no question of Montenegro being threatened by Serbia in any way, and it is more than clear that Đukanović is trapped in political phrases he has used for years to gain political points with false stories about Montenegro being threatened, instead of focusing on the real needs and problems of his citizens," Brnabić assessed.
