
The Head of the Special Department for War Crimes and Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Gordana Tadić, along with officials from this department and heads of sections, met with the Chief Prosecutor at the ICTY and MICT, Serge Brammertz.
At the meeting, Prosecutor Brammertz was presented with the BiH Prosecutor's Office's results to date in processing war crimes cases, as well as planned activities for the upcoming period.
Furthermore, officials from the Special Department for War Crimes informed Brammertz about the activities that the BiH Prosecutor's Office is coordinating and implementing in the process of searching for and identifying missing persons.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office recently reached a figure of over 600 (a total of 605) accused persons for war crimes and grave violations of international humanitarian law. To date, for cases that have been finally concluded, sentences totaling 2087 years of imprisonment have been imposed.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office at the ICTY and MICT have good and continuous cooperation in their joint mission, which is focused on discovering and prosecuting perpetrators of war crimes and fighting against impunity for war crimes.
