(Patria) - Today at 4 PM, the E75 highway was blocked as part of the "Serbia Against Violence" protests.
The blockade will be in Belgrade and Novi Sad, and in the Serbian capital, it is planned for the convoys of cars coming from two toll booths to merge near the Sava Centar, reports Nova.rs
MP of the Green-Left Club Ne davimo Beograd, Radomir Lazović, says this is an introduction to what will happen tomorrow - a protest.
"We will gradually introduce other forms of civil disobedience and blockades. We want to explain to those who do not want to hear us that something must change. So, there is no backing down. Changes will have to happen here as soon as possible, so that we don't have to resort to more serious forms of protest," Lazović told N1.
When asked if he thinks this is harassment of citizens, he says:
"I believe this is one way to stop violence and hatred. If 19 dead and 20 injured are not a reason for something to change in our country, then I don't know what is. I would remind those who are harassed by this of the reason for all of this."
One direction of the highway blocked, Gazela empty
The highway lanes near Sava Centar from the direction of Šimanovci are blocked. The Gazela Bridge is completely empty. Lanes in the other direction are also expected to be stopped soon. Traffic near Sava Centar is planned to be halted until 8 PM.
One convoy reached Genex, and they are arriving in front of Sava Centar soon. The convoy from the direction of Šimanovci reached the Genex tower and is arriving near Sava Centar soon. Co-president of Zajedno, Biljana Stojković, is in the convoy currently near Ikea.
