"I am a minor fighter of the Army of RBiH, I have four years and 26 days of trenches and battles, I rarely mention it because I didn't fight to talk about it, I fought because I had to, because I wanted to, because the whole neighborhood did it, because the aggressor came 200 meters from my house and then they say - he is lying," said Elmedin Konaković, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina in September 2022.
At that time, he was not yet a minister, so such qualifications were very useful to him; today, when he is officially the Minister of Foreign Affairs (although he was never that as a basketball player in his career), he is a diplomat, so he has forgotten who the aggressor was and does not articulate his views clearly. Such behavior is unacceptable, but it can be understood, because he was a minor, so perhaps he doesn't remember well!? (But I was also a minor during the war, and I learned a lot about it, author's note.)
In the show 'Nedjeljom u 2' on HRT, he refused to answer the question of whether Croatia committed aggression against BiH.
Konaković said that he would "be a diplomat and keep the answer to himself".
"These are topics now, the interpretation of legal experts, in which the judgment against the 'six' for a joint criminal enterprise can be read as a definition stating that it was the project of Banovina that Tuđman lived and that he was actually the one. Whether he was the one, through people from BiH or whether the participation was formal, these are the topics that would explode here today, and I will be a diplomat and keep that answer to myself," said Konaković.
The complete relativization of what happened in the 90s particularly offended victims, as well as people who have been fighting for the truth for years. One of them is Murat Tahirović, president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide. When asked "Did Croatia commit aggression against BiH?", he told Patria:
"The International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, in addition to individual criminal responsibility, also determined the character of the conflict in BiH. In five final judgments, the ICTY established an international conflict, or colloquially speaking, that Croatia committed aggression against BiH. Almost forty judges determined that Croatia had general control over Bosnian Croats in HRHB and HVO and that the Republic of Croatia had also occupied part of BiH," says Tahirović.
It was also established that the Republic of Croatia, in addition to general control, also used its armed forces (HV, intelligence services, police) as well as other institutions, including diplomacy, on the territory of BiH.
"General control included making all political, military, and other decisions, personnel appointments, logistical and financial operations, meaning Croatia managed political and military operations and processes in BiH through HVO and HRHB.
So, there are answers to such questions, through final judgments of the International Court, and such questions have been resolved in the court established by the UN Security Council. In addition to the answer about aggression, it must also be stated that the ICTY established a joint criminal enterprise led by Franjo Tuđman, which is legally something completely different from established aggression," Tahirović is clear.
Why Konaković avoids answering the question clearly can also be sought in the fact that his formal education did not teach him this, but as Minister of Foreign Affairs, he was obliged to educate himself further and not harm Bosnia and Herzegovina, and by refusing to answer this question clearly on the public service of Croatia, he is harming BiH.
If the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH refuses to say this, why would the Croatian leadership or the population of that country accept it!?
Konaković also did not learn that judgments are not debated but implemented, and since sharing knowledge is the greatest good you can do for someone, we advise the minister to read the material in the link, and not only him, but everyone who is unclear whether Croatia and Serbia committed aggression against BiH.
The particular danger in the fact that Konaković wants to be a diplomat, as if the Hague judgments stand in his way, is the complete awareness now that, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, he is not aware that the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina ended with the Dayton Peace Agreement, but that the war against our country has never ended, nor has the aggressor's policy slowed down.
Serbian-Croatian policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has not moved an inch from the one it pursued during the aggressive actions against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The only difference is in the way that occupying-aggressor politicians do not come in military armored vehicles today, but in expensive limousines. The principle is the same, the difference is only in nuances.
Admittedly, today they also have Konaković and the narrative of some reconciliation, imposed by Aleksandar Vučić, so now according to the matrix - sorry for attacking us - we are supposed to live!
