BiH secured a place in the quarterfinals with a victory against Slovenia

Bosnia and Herzegovina has qualified for the quarterfinals of the U18 European Basketball Championship after defeating Slovenia 65:59 in a very exciting game full of comebacks, reports Patria News Agency.

We started the game brilliantly, having an 8:0 lead after two minutes of play. However, the Slovenians responded with a 13:0 run and completely turned the score around. We finished the first quarter with a five-point deficit. Kralj scored with six seconds left for 12:17.

We waited almost two minutes for the first points in the second quarter, Janković reduced the deficit to 14:17. It was a basket-for-basket game until the middle of the period, then our guys went on an 8:0 run for 25:21, scored by Čampara. We went into halftime with a two-point lead (30:28).

In the opening minutes of the third quarter, with points from Kamenjaš and Janković, we took a +7 lead (37:30), but the Slovenians gradually came back into the game, and the decisive quarter started with a tied score. Kralj scored for 46:46 after 30 minutes of play.

The deciding quarter saw a drop in the play of Boris Džidić's team, while everything went right for the Slovenians, who took an eight-point lead (51:59) with a three-pointer by Kralj with 5:39 left. However, there was no surrender. Adžić scored seven points in a row, bringing us completely back into the game.

With 2:14 left, Čampara gave us a new lead. The brilliant playmaker completed our team's 11:0 run with new points in the next possession. We maintained the lead until the end and achieved a great triumph that guarantees our stay in Division A.

The best players on our team were Čerkezović with 13 points and seven rebounds, and Čampara with 20 points and six assists. Adžić added 18 points.

For the Slovenians, Kralj was the most effective with 18 points, while Mlakar added 12.
