Bosnian officials send condolences to the President and Prime Minister of Macedonia

Bosnian officials today sent telegrams of condolence to the President and Prime Minister of Macedonia, following catastrophic floods in that country, which claimed more than 20 human lives, writes the Patria News Agency. 

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović 

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović sent a telegram of condolence to the President of the Republic of Macedonia Gjorge Ivanov.

We received the news of the tragic toll of the floods, caused by severe weather that claimed the lives of dozens of citizens in your country, with great regret. The images from Skopje reminded us of the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014. On behalf of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in my own name, I extend my sincerest condolences.

With sincere solidarity of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we send our wishes for successful work to all rescue teams on the ground. Please convey our sincerest condolences to the families of the victims. Please accept, Your Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić 

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Serb people, Mladen Ivanić, sent a telegram of condolence to the President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, on the occasion of the catastrophic weather that struck the country and claimed dozens of lives.

“I was deeply shaken by the news of the catastrophe that struck Macedonia, in which a large number of people perished. In this sad moment for your country and people, I sincerely sympathize with your suffering and the suffering of the families of the victims.

The difficult images from your country reminded us of what we went through two years ago, so the sympathy is even greater. Dear President Ivanov, please convey my deepest condolences and solidarity to the citizens of Macedonia, with the wish that you overcome the consequences of the terrible accident that has befallen you as soon as possible,” stated Mladen Ivanić’s telegram.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić 

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić sent condolences to the Prime Minister of Macedonia, Emil Dimitriev, on the occasion of the catastrophic consequences of the unprecedented floods in Skopje.

 

"On the occasion of the catastrophic consequences of the unprecedented floods that hit Macedonia, especially Skopje, and in which a large number of your citizens lost their lives, on behalf of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and on my own behalf, I extend to you my deepest condolences.

Please convey our expressions of sympathy to the families of the victims, and we wish the injured a speedy recovery," stated Chairman Zvizdić’s telegram.

Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić 

On the occasion of the catastrophic consequences of the severe weather that hit Skopje and other parts of the Republic of Macedonia, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, on behalf of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in his personal capacity, sent a telegram of condolence to the Chargé d'Affaires of the Macedonian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandar Krstevski, which stated:

“We were deeply shaken by the news of the numerous victims of the devastating storm that hit your country, and especially its capital.

Please convey the expressions of deep condolences to the Government and people of friendly Macedonia, and especially to the families who lost their loved ones in this catastrophe,” said Prime Minister Novalić’s telegram of condolence.

Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Željka Cvijanović 

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, sent a telegram of condolence to the Prime Minister of Macedonia, Emil Dimitriev, and the citizens of Macedonia on the occasion of the deaths of a large number of people in the severe weather that hit Macedonia.

“I am deeply shaken by the news of the deaths of a large number of Skopje citizens in last night’s severe weather that hit Macedonia. This tragedy has deeply shaken all our citizens who truly sympathize with the families of the victims. On behalf of the Government of Republika Srpska, myself, and the citizens of Republika Srpska, I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, to you, and to the citizens of Macedonia,” stated Prime Minister Cvijanović’s telegram.

Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milan Dunović 

The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Dunović, sent a telegram of condolence and words of support to Aleksandar Krstevski, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia in BiH, and its people:

- To you and the people of the Republic of Macedonia, I express my condolences on the great tragedy that has befallen you after the catastrophic floods. I extend my sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish you to overcome this tragedy and the resulting damage as soon as possible. I sympathize with your pain and tragedy, because not so long ago, our people also suffered a great tragedy caused by a natural disaster. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent natural disasters, but we can be unconditional support for each other in difficult times.”
