No crowds at drive-in Covid-19 testing point

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Haris Vranić today visited the location of the drive-in Covid-19 testing point in Sarajevo near the Suada and Olga bridge.

“The drive-in was built according to all standards required for Covid-19 testing. All those who have a referral for testing can come here, and this especially applies to priority persons. All those who get tested will be notified either via Viber application or will be informed via their mobile phone number,” said Vranić and added:

“All those who test positive will be notified on time, as will their clinics, so that treatment can begin immediately.”

The Management Board and Director Muhamed Ahmić were tasked with ensuring good organization within the Health Centers, so that the specialist field service for drive-in testing would be as efficient as possible. Testing will be conducted from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

When asked when the vaccination process is expected, Vranić said that "we have remained a lonely island in the Balkans because the authorities did not start this process on time."

"We have initiated contact with all vaccine manufacturers, but there are legal obstacles to importing them. For Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Sputnik. We secured some 100,000 doses of AstraZeneca, but legal regulations do not allow import.”

He added that the number of newly infected is being monitored and that the possibility of stricter measures in Sarajevo Canton is open.
