Belgrade bids farewell to Avdić, Bodiroga, Kecman, Radonjić attend the commemoration

(Patria) - A commemoration for the renowned sports journalist and commentator Edin Avdić, who passed away on Wednesday in his apartment in Belgrade, was held today at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Belgrade.

For years, Avdić was one of the most recognizable television faces when it comes to basketball broadcasts. The audience particularly appreciated him for his energy, expertise, and distinctive style of commenting on regional and European competitions, as well as the NBA league. In addition, he left a significant mark through conversations and interviews with numerous basketball stars, Vijesti.ba reports.

A day earlier, during the broadcast of the Greek basketball derby, his long-time colleague and commentary partner Nenad Kostić, better known as Kole, emotionally bid him farewell.

The commemoration was attended by family members, friends, colleagues and numerous well-known names from the world of sports. Among them were basketball player Nikola Vučević, former national team player Aleksandar Saša Pavlović, as well as Dušan Kecman.

Dejan Bodiroga, as well as coaches Dejan Radonjić and Vladimir Jovanović, also paid their respects.

Among those present were numerous journalists and commentators, including Darko Plavšić and Ivan Bogunović, as well as representatives of basketball clubs and organizations.

The commemoration was also attended by Nikola Milojević, the son of the prematurely deceased basketball expert Dejan Milojević, and actor Sergej Trifunović.

The passing of Edin Avdić has left a great void among colleagues, friends and sports enthusiasts, who will remember him for his professionalism, unique commentary style and great love for basketball.

The funeral for Edin Avdić will be held on Monday at 2:30 PM at the Bare cemetery.

A commemoration on the occasion of his death will be held on the same day at the National Theatre Sarajevo starting at 11:00 AM.
