Belgrade Open 2017: PK Spid competitors won seven medals

Organized by the Sports Association of Persons with Disabilities of the City of Belgrade, international sports games for persons with disabilities called “Belgrade Open 2017” were organized for the fourth time. More than 700 competitors participated in ten different disciplines such as football, goalball, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, swimming, chess, table tennis, athletics, wheelchair cycling, and taekwondo, writes Patria agency.

Swimmers from the Spid Swimming Club participated with five competitors in nine starts. The swimmers swam in their classes with colleagues from Serbia, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Montenegro, Slovenia, Macedonia...

As coach Amel Kapo stated, all PK Spid swimmers improved their personal best times and won seven medals.

- One gold, four silver, and two bronze medals, which is an excellent achievement. These medals are proof that people with disabilities can achieve many good things if only given an equal opportunity. In water, we are all equal - says Kapo.

The following competed for the Spid Swimming Club: Ammar Kadrić, Sanjin Cero, Nermin Memić, Damir Muratović, Muhamed Merdžanović.
