(Patria) - After the largest gathering in modern Serbian history, where tens of thousands of citizens were on the streets of Belgrade, some of the most persistent opposition members and citizens spent the night on Gazela. With tents, good spirits and incredible energy, they decided to spend the night on the street, thus sending a clear message that they will demand the fulfillment of their requests.
Part of the participants of the third protest in a row, „Serbia against Violence“, continued even after midnight the blockade of a section of the international highway in New Belgrade blocks near the „NIS” gas station.
With several tents set up, sleeping bags and garden chairs on the highway, they blocked the road and demanded that their requests be met. A Nova crew could hear several dozen citizens demanding that all requests be fulfilled and that they will stay overnight for as many days as needed until their requests are met.
Among those gathered shortly before two hours after midnight were also MPs Srđan Milivojević, Đorđe Miketić and Nebojša Zelenović, as well as the co-president of the party Together, Biljana Stojković.
„We will stay here as long as needed and wait for citizens to join us“, said one of those gathered who was in a tent.
MP Đorđe Miketić thanked everyone who was at the protests and said it was a magnificent gathering.
„The keepers of the flame remained on Gazela, people who are truly persistent in this. We will now see in the coming days how the protest will proceed, and we think the protest will be aimed at the media, PINK and REM. The protests are more numerous each time, citizens have clearly stated that they are against the violence in which we live and they have drenched us in hatred. From today, nothing will be the same“, said Miketić for Nova.rs.
