Bećirović: Vučić, come to terms with the fact that the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is Sarajevo, not Belgrade

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Today's meeting of the presidents of Serbian parliamentary parties from the BiH entity RS in Belgrade with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on “important national issues” is just another in a series of confirmations that Vučić has not abandoned the destructive policy of Greater Serbia.

This was stated in a media statement by delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly and Vice President of the SDP BiH, Denis Bećirović, "on the occasion of the continuation of the Greater Serbian policy of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić".

"Not even Slobodan Milošević's regime convened a part of Serbian political officials from other independent and sovereign states this often during the wars of aggression against neighboring countries. Obviously, Vučić has decided to surpass even Milošević himself. The capital of the citizens and peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Sarajevo, not Belgrade. When Vučić truly understands and accepts this, then his unauthorized convening of a part of Serbian officials for frequent political reports in Belgrade will cease," Bećirović believes.

As he says, it is high time that international and domestic officials warn Vučić that he should stop "behaving as the president of a Greater Serbia, and that he should forever come to terms with the fact that there will be no creation of a Greater Serbia at the expense of a single centimeter of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Never!".

"Therefore, Vučić should stop unauthorizedly convening political officials from certain parts of other internationally recognized states in Belgrade and playing the false peacemaker in a way that no one in Europe does in the 21st century. As an advocate of Greater Serbianism, both in war and in peace, he should stop playing the dangerous game of deception, fraud, and undermining the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, Vučić should, finally, stop being a politician who wants to turn political hypocrisy into constructive politics," Bećirović stated.

The future of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, peace, stability, and progress have never, the Vice President of the SDP notes, depended and will not depend on one individual, especially not on the individual "Aleksandar Vučić, once a declared Chetnik and today a false 'stabilizer' of political circumstances in the region".

"It is high time that Vučić stops playing a double game which boils down to him building his rhetoric on supposed reconciliation and calming tensions, while, at the same time, with his real policy, he raises tensions, undermines the sovereignty of neighboring countries, and fans negative energy throughout the entire region. Just as Slobodan Milošević once, who presented himself to the Western public as a peacemaker and democrat (at a time when the project of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts was in the implementation phase and Milošević was its contractor), used Šešelj and Vučić during the 1990s, so today Aleksandar Vučić, in his „reconciliatory“ policy, uses political puppets like Dodik and politicians similar to him," Bećirović points out.

Vučić should, he adds, understand that the dangerous texts of the SANU Memorandum I and SANU Memorandum II are not a safe and wise guide for the future.

"That is a guide for new destabilization and misfortune. Therefore, it would be good for Vučić to forget the memorandums and abandon the unattainable plans for a greater state! Vučić must stop supporting with words, while undermining with deeds, the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and bringing discord and unrest among the citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina! Let him do this for the sake of a safer and better future for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia," Bećirović concluded in his statement.
