Bećirović: Harmonisation between Dodik and Vučić has no force, it is known who will represent BiH in Tirana

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović responded to the unfounded positions of the president of the BiH entity RS Milorad Dodik regarding the coordination of positions with the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić concerning the participation of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the EU-Western Balkans Summit on 6 December in Tirana.

"Bosnia and Herzegovina is an independent, sovereign state and a full member of the United Nations. Representatives of lower administrative-territorial units in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina have no authority in conducting the foreign policy of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Likewise, neighbouring states cannot and will never be able to decide on the foreign policy of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is decided by the competent bodies of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The unfounded positions and unauthorised interference of Milorad Dodik in matters that are not within his competence have no legal force. Any coordination of positions between the president of the BiH entity RS and the President of Serbia has no bearing on the decision of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr. Dodik and the BiH entity RS have not even been invited to participate in any format at this summit, so it is pointless to even mention the positions of the entity in the context of participation at the summit in Tirana. The Presidency of BiH has made a decision, accepting the invitation to participate in the EU-Western Balkans Summit, and has agreed on who should represent Bosnia and Herzegovina," stated the member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović.
