Bećirović meets with Slovenia's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Anželj Frangeš

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović received today Ambassador Anželj Frangeš, Special Envoy of Slovenia for the Western Balkans, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Bosnia and Herzegovina Damijan Sedar. The meeting discussed
relations and cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia, as well as accelerating Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to the European Union.

Expressing satisfaction with the successful development of friendly relations between the two countries, the member of the BiH Presidency Bećirović emphasized his firm commitment to their advancement and strengthening, as well as to deepening economic ties. Expressing gratitude to Special Envoy Frangeš for Slovenia's great support so far for Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path, the member of the BiH Presidency Bećirović stressed at the meeting that the European perspective of each country in the region is the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region. He pointed out that it is of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive candidate status for EU membership at the upcoming December EU Summit.

Bećirović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to further strengthening regional cooperation within existing initiatives, and that it will participate in regional cooperation processes, primarily on the principles of preserving sovereignty and independence, as well as equal benefit for all. He particularly highlighted the positive dynamization of the Berlin Process.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia have so far concluded more than forty bilateral agreements in various fields, and the hope was expressed that agreements currently in the process of conclusion will be signed as soon as possible. Special Envoy of Slovenia for the Western Balkans Anželj Frangeš congratulated Dr. Bećirović on his victory for member of the BiH Presidency, emphasizing that Slovenia will continue to provide great support to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its path to EU membership.
