Bandić: I am the best candidate for Prime Minister of Croatia

Bandić Milan 365 - Party of Solidarity and Labour held the founding assembly of its City Organisation in Slavonski Brod, electing Petar Bašić as its president. Bašić is a businessman and former secretary of the Democratic Centre, and the party president Milan Bandić reiterated his well-known claim that he is the most competent candidate for Prime Minister, reports the Patria News Agency.

"Neither Petrov nor the 'two officials' from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are better candidates," said Bandić.

He also commented on the announcements of new job creation coming from the SDP and HDZ.

"We are not making any bids. We can get out of this mud in 8 to 10 years. That's how long it will take to succeed and replace the favoured with the capable," said Bandić, reiterating that he deserves to be Prime Minister based on his results.

Significantly lower unemployment than in the rest of Croatia and higher average salaries are his concrete results, Bandić asserted, while his competitors have shown what they wanted and knew how to do in their previous terms. According to him, the fact that the previous Prime Minister came to power without a single mandate won also supports his determination to become Prime Minister, whereas he says he will have more than 15.

Bandić announced that a coalition including Ljubo Jurčić and Radimir Čačić, among others, will be presented on Tuesday, along with a special surprise – the list leader for the diaspora electoral list, though he declined to reveal the specific name.

According to him, the coalition will present 15 main programmatic guidelines on August 10th.

Before the party rally, Bandić visited the Josip Rimac settlement in Slavonski Brod, home to a large Roma community. On that occasion, he promised that the City of Zagreb would provide free school textbooks for children of the Roma national minority. At the party rally, Bandić also announced that all Roma children in Croatia would receive free textbooks, Index reports.
