US Vice President Joe Biden will visit Serbia and Kosovo next week, the White House announced on Tuesday, reports the Patria News Agency.
A White House statement announcing the visit from August 15 to 17 states that Biden will meet with the presidents and prime ministers of both countries, but it was not specified what will be discussed at the meetings.
Last month, the US transferred two detainees from the US military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Serbia. Secretary of State John Kerry thanked Serbia for what he called a "significant humanitarian gesture".
Kerry visited Serbia and Kosovo in December. Kosovo declared independence in 2008, writes Index.
