Ambassador of BiH in Slovenia requests security measures from Slovenian MUP after Snežič's incident

(Patria) - The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Slovenia, Dario Novalić, sent a letter to the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Slovenia, warning about an incident in front of the courthouse in Maribor before the start of the trial on the lawsuit filed by Slovenian consultant and lobbyist, Rok Snežič, against Bosnian-Herzegovinian journalist Avdo Avdić.

"Before entering the courtroom, Rok Snežič showed journalist Mojca Hanžič of 24UR a t-shirt he wore for the occasion. The t-shirt featured the image of Martin Krpan, the main character from Fran Levstik's story from the mid-19th century, who beheads a Muslim. 'Martin Krpan saved Slovenia from Muslims. You see how he beheaded Muslims. This is a national hero, and I am Martin Krpan,' the Slovenian entrepreneur Rok Snežič told the editor of the Istraga.ba portal after appearing before the District Court in Maribor. A few days earlier, Rok Snežič called Avdo Avdić a 'little Muslim,' Ambassador Novalić warns in the letter.

He requests the Slovenian Ministry of the Interior to implement certain security measures, considering that "a large number of Bosniaks, who are Muslims, live in the Republic of Slovenia, and this could pose a security threat to them and their families".

The BiH Embassy in Ljubljana also informed the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia about this incident through a letter.
