Albanian Minister: No Border with Kosovo from January 1

From January 1, 2019, the border between Albania and Kosovo will no longer exist, stated Albanian Minister for Diaspora Pandeli Majko at a gathering in Kosovo.

As reported by the Macedonian agency MIA, Majko said last night in Skenderaj (Srbica) in central Kosovo that Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has already made the decision to open the border.

- The border between Albania and Kosovo should be opened, and the prime minister told me that he has already made such a decision and that free movement between Albania and Kosovo will begin from January 1 - Majko said at a gathering dedicated to the Kosovo diaspora, which was met with stormy ovations and applause.  

The President and Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi and Ramush Haradinaj, also attended this event, but according to Kosovo media, they did not comment on the Albanian minister's statement, MIA reported.
