If Vučić orders it, the Serbian Army will enter Kosovo territory

(Patria) - Minister of Defense Miloš Vučević stated at a press conference that if the Serbian Army received an order from the President of Serbia, as the supreme commander, to enter the territory of Kosovo, "as part of the Republic of Serbia", "the Serbian Army will carry out such a task, efficiently, professionally, and successfully".

General Mojsilović and I will only deal with facts today – said Vučević, emphasizing that cooperation with KFOR is good.

Throughout all these years, KFOR troops have never crossed into the territory of inner Serbia, nor has the Serbian Army done so without KFOR's permission. The Serbian Army has never violated any agreement, and these are not technical but substantive pieces of information.

“A systematic campaign is being waged against the Serbian Army, against its deployment in the territory of Serbia. If the Serbian Army receives such an order from the President of Serbia as the supreme commander to enter the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, the Serbian Army will carry out such a task“, stated Vučević, adding that such a potential task would be carried out professionally and would certainly be announced to KFOR in advance because – “we do nothing behind anyone's back”.

Mojsilović said that he is surprised by the "concern" from Pristina when there was no increase in combat readiness. He added that there was no training of any terrorist forces, nor any incursion into the territory of Kosovo.

Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Army, Milan Mojsilović, stated that there was no increase in the combat readiness of the Serbian Army, but only increased activities in the ground safety zone. He added that there are 4,500 engaged members of the Serbian Army in the ground zone. He denied that Milan Radoičić was undergoing training at Pasuljanske livade, as stated earlier by Kosovo officials.

“I want to inform you that, in accordance with the orders of the supreme commander, there was no raising of full combat readiness, but exclusively increased presence and engagement of units in the ground safety zone and within the administrative line. After the outbreak of the security crisis, the Serbian Army increased its presence in the ground safety zone. As of September 25, there were 8,350 engaged members, not only for securing the administrative line in the ground safety zone but also within units that are located and deployed near the administrative line. From a military perspective, I believe that all comments on the numerical strength of the Serbian Army are completely unnecessary“, said Mojsilović.
