Abazović will not withdraw from politics

(Patria) - Prime Minister in technical mandate Dritan Abazović reiterated his stance that he would like the 44th government to be formed as soon as possible. He also states that he will not withdraw from politics if he is not part of the new executive authorities, writes CdM.

“I would like the government to be formed as soon as possible, it is important and good for the country. It is good that the consultations have ended, and now the constitutional deadline is running, which in a way creates pressure to reach agreements as soon as possible. Whenever that happens, the announced cake awaits them,” Abazović told reporters at the ceremony marking the start of the reconstruction of the Tivat – Jaz main road.

When asked if he had informal talks about forming a government, Abazović emphasized that he talks with almost all parties, and that this is not something that would be interesting in the context of forming the 44th government.

“I told them earlier – I wish them success, the sooner we have the 44th, the sooner we will have the 45th government,” Abazović pointed out.


When asked if he would withdraw from politics after the formation of the 44th government, Abazović said he would not.

“Why would I withdraw from politics? It is true that I have personally achieved everything in politics. I entered politics to contribute to Montenegro changing for the better and becoming an EU member, and I want to make that contribution from any position,” said Abazović.

The epilogue of the raid at the Podgorica hotel is that the traffic police issued a misdemeanor fine of 50 euros to Milan Milikić because he had a starter pistol in his vehicle, which he did not report to the MUP within the prescribed period of eight days from the date of purchase. Abazović emphasizes that the police did not dare to look at the owners of Bemax before that action.

“If anyone had come to report them, as one guy reported them for some violence, whether it happened or not, I don't know, the police would have beaten him up and not even taken a statement,” claimed Abazović.

As he added, the change that has come since he has been in power is that there are no untouchables.

“That's why there is nervousness. A lot was found with them, and more will be found. No one needs to worry, the evidence is safe,” said Abazović.

When asked how a lot was found, and only one person is held responsible for a starter pistol, Abazović claims that the institutions are doing their job, but in a limited way.

“Because if they weren't afraid, you would never have the opportunity to ask this question and for me to give this answer. These things related to those people would have been resolved long ago, 10-15 years ago, legally speaking... Many didn't even know about Tigar, but now they do, nor about Sky, Z... The only thing that can save them is a new government if it changes course,” said Abazović.

Journalists were also interested in whether Abazović was afraid of the Bemax owners and the lawsuits they announced against him.

“All their lawsuits are mosquito bites and a waste of time to me. I think Mr. Piperović earns well from them, and if that's the ultimate effect, then good luck to him... I am here, I am not afraid of anything, I personally think those people are cowards. Anyone who walks around with armed people is a coward,” said Abazović.

When asked if he was also a coward, Abazović replied that he was not.

“Personally, I don't consider myself one. My security bothers me, I won't have security tomorrow, and I'm waiting for them. I am here, very accessible. Personally, there is no reason for concern because the genie is out of the bottle. They are too late for everything. Let them not worry about the raids, nor about the pistols, let them worry about many other things that both I and they know the truth about,” concluded Abazović.
