
(Patria) - In the Čarakovo area near Prijedor, the remains of one person, presumed to be a victim of Bosniak nationality missing in this area in 1992, have been exhumed, the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) BiH confirmed to Detektor.
The complete remains of one victim of the past war were exhumed in the Čarakovo area near Prijedor.
INO BiH spokesperson Emza Fazlić says the body was found in the yard of a family home.
- This location was worked on once before, but no remains were found. This time, a wider area was worked on, and they were found - Fazlić points out.
The victim's remains have been transferred to the Identification Center "Šejkovača" in Sanski Most, where forensic and forensic medical processing will take place, as well as the collection of bone samples to determine identity through DNA analysis.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office announced that the exhumation was carried out on July 28 and 29, by its order and the order of the BiH Court.
An INO BiH investigator, workers and machinery, as well as local police who secured the exhumation site, were also present.
