In Banja Luka, the Council of the Vice-President of Republika Srpska from the Bosniak People was formed

(Patria) - The constituent session of the Council of the Vice-President of the BiH entity RS from the Bosniak people was held. The Council includes 44 eminent experts, professors, scientists and cultural workers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as prominent Bosniaks in the BiH entity RS, who have proven themselves in their fields, as well as in public, scientific and political life. In accordance with the constitutional competencies of the Vice-President, the Council will be a body that will provide advice and support to the Vice-President of the BiH entity RS from the Bosniak people, with the aim of improving the lives of Bosniaks in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his address at the constituent session, Vice-President Salkić emphasized the fact that this is the first time since the return of Bosniaks that such a respectable body has been formed, which includes individuals who have left and are leaving an indelible mark on the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The issue of the survival and life of the Bosniak people in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is simply also an issue of the survival of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this form. Precisely because of this, in these pivotal times, I consider the formation of this Council to be very important, with the aim of joint reflection, joint action for the good of our homeland, our people, and all other citizens. Our problems must be internationalized, and the discussion about solving problems must take place outside of political circles, and outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Therefore, I thank the Council of Bosniak Intellectuals, BZK "Preporod", and MDD "Merhamet", organizations that have nominated their distinguished members to this Council, but also all my colleagues, friends, and prominent individuals who wish to contribute in this way to improving the position of our people in this entity and to the fight for the realization of rights. We need stronger support in the fields of economy, law, education, and culture. I believe that this Council will make a huge contribution in these areas.

The tasks and goals of this Council are to monitor the situation, position, and realization of the rights of Bosniaks in the BiH entity RS in accordance with the Constitution and laws, to adopt positions and propose measures for action, with the aim of improving the status and position of Bosniaks in this entity.

The Council will work on affirming belonging to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and nurturing the Bosnian language, as well as on affirming the cultural and traditional values of Bosniaks in this entity. Also, the Council will deal with the analysis of the situation and proposals for measures for the economic empowerment of Bosniak communities and providing legal and advisory assistance for the realization of rights in the territory of the BiH entity RS, said Vice-President Salkić in his address.

At the constituent session of the Council, it was particularly emphasized that the current position and situation of Bosniaks in the BiH entity RS is unacceptable, and the entity authorities are asked to change this situation. It was also emphasized that the Council will deal with the harmonization of the constitutional and legal position in the context of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that Bosniaks achieve equality in the BiH entity RS.
