(Patria) - The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, visited Herzegovina today, where in Mrkonjići, the birthplace of Saint Basil of Ostrog, he visited a spiritual center whose construction was partly financed by the Republic of Serbia.
Vučić was welcomed in Mrkonjići by the Metropolitan of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Littoral, Dimitrije, the President of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, and the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić.
The value of the spiritual center construction project is estimated at around 2.5 million convertible marks, of which the Serbian government provided 800,000 KM, while the remaining funds were secured by the Government of Republika Srpska and the City of Trebinje.
Earlier in the day, Vučić arrived in Mostar, where he was welcomed by the Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović.
During his visit to Herzegovina, the President of Serbia will also attend the ceremonial opening of the hospital „Sveti arhiđakon Stefan – 9. januar“ in Trebinje. The opening of the hospital is part of the program to mark the unconstitutional so-called „Day of Republika Srpska – January 9th“, and is planned for noon.
Together with the President of Serbia, the Minister of Health of Serbia, Zlatibor Lončar, and the President's advisor for regional issues, Miloš Vučević, also traveled to Herzegovina.
