UNUSUAL MARATHON in Sarajevo on January 13: We run for clean air

(Patria) - The association DEČKI U PLAVOM is organizing the sixth edition of the international sports event "UNUSUAL MARATHON". The event will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, starting at 9:00 AM at the location Vilsonovo šetalište (near the ARS AEVI bridge). Around 250 runners from nine (9) countries are expected, and they will compete in three disciplines: marathon (42.2 kilometers), half marathon (21.1 kilometers), and quarter marathon (10.5 kilometers).

The race is organized under the slogan: We run for clean air - My mission no emission. This race is one of the ways the running community wants to draw attention to the problem of pollution in Sarajevo, i.e., Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The race route is on the section Vilsonovo šetalište, Dolac malta, Čengić vila, Otoka, Alipašino polje, Nedžarići, where the turn-around point is and the return towards Vilsonovo šetalište.

Given that the runners will be running on sidewalks and roads where traffic is prohibited on weekends, Dečki u plavom would like to inform drivers that their comfort will not be disturbed, meaning there will be no complete traffic stoppage.
