In the desire to rent an apartment, he paid hundreds of euros, and when he arrived at the location, he was unpleasantly surprised

(Patria) - A man (57) was defrauded in Croatia while renting an apartment.

Namely, on June 12, he found an advertisement on social networks for renting an apartment in the Croatian municipality of Crikvenica and paid several hundred euros.

When he arrived at the apartment address on June 28 and tried to contact the landlord, he no longer responded.

According to the Požega-Slavonia Police Department, a criminal complaint was received from the damaged man, which will be forwarded to the Municipal State Attorney's Office in Slavonski Brod.

The police are trying to find the perpetrator.

The police appeal to citizens to be careful when contacting unknown persons and pages on social networks and not to pay money without detailed checks.

They emphasize that it is important to check whether the apartment is being rented out, who the person who posted the advertisement is, and whether they are authorized to do so.
