In Vlasenica, re-exhumation of remains of 56 previously buried victims has begun

(Patria) - In Vlasenica, the re-exhumation of the remains of previously buried victims has begun today at the Rakita and Zaklopača cemeteries, in order to complete their skeletons.

The reassociation or attachment of mortal remains to previously found and identified victims is being carried out for 56 buried individuals, into whose graves subsequently found mortal remains will be placed. At the same time, two victims exhumed from the mass graves Liplje and Kamenica, in the area of the Zvornik municipality, were identified today at the premises of the Podrinje Identification Project (PIP) in Tuzla.

The identity of the victims was determined based on DNA analysis, and today their identity was officially confirmed by their family members.

The identified victims are: Ismet (Suljo) Mehmedović, born in 1937 in Kamenica, and Sabić (Salko) Suljić, born in 1974 in the village of Urisići.

They will be buried in the Memorial Center in Potočari in July of this year, after a collective funeral prayer.
