In Tuzla, 546 mobile phones and 70 watches seized

(Patria) - Authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina (UIO BiH) carried out the operational action "Štek", in which a larger quantity of phones and other goods worth BAM 450,000 was seized.

The action was carried out in Tuzla, and as a result of independent operational-tactical work, they located the premises and identified the legal entity in the RC Tuzla area where a large quantity of mobile phones smuggled into Bosnia and Herzegovina was found.

The latest models of mobile phones were originally packed in cardboard boxes with pictures of phone mock-ups and protective screens, which did not suggest that they contained expensive mobile phones.

The legal and responsible person did not possess any documentation regarding the origin, i.e., proof that it had passed the regular customs procedure upon entering the customs territory of BiH. Goods prohibited for import without the appropriate authorization of the competent Agency (optical sights, goods for medical purposes), ready for further distribution, for which the owner also possessed no documentation regarding the origin, were also found on the premises.

During the operational action, 546 mobile phones (Galaxy S 25 Ultra, iPHONE 16 ProMAX, S 24 ULTRA, etc.), 70 watches (Apple), as well as other prohibited goods were found.

The total value of the temporarily seized goods is BAM 450,000.

Statutory measures and actions have been taken against the perpetrators of the irregularities.
