In Srebrenica, four million KM of mineral water are lost daily, local authorities are looking for investors

In Srebrenica, mineral water worth over four million KM is lost on average every day. Data presented at the Investment and Development Conference in Srebrenica show that springs in Srebrenica yield between 100 and 300 liters of medicinal mineral water daily, the value of which is around 20 KM per liter in pharmacies, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Dr. Almir Pašalić, who has been researching the mineral water in recent years, explained that the mineral water in Srebrenica is medicinal, and its controlled consumption helps in treating a wide range of diseases, including anemia, as well as serious illnesses like leukemia.
Due to these properties of this water, there are real chances that this natural resource of Srebrenica could be found on pharmacy shelves worldwide, bringing hundreds of new jobs to Srebrenica.

- Today, there are a large number of women in the world suffering from anemia; this water helps with such problems – said Dr. Pašalić, who added that he has also treated some of his patients with the help of this mineral water from Srebrenica.

The medicinal water in Srebrenica was discovered by experts from Austria-Hungary at the end of the 19th century, and it was already warned at that time that it was a unique medicinal water source in the world.

At the beginning of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1992, the development of the mineral water springs was halted. Two decades later, local authorities are inviting investors to start investing again in this natural resource that can bring rapid economic recovery to all of eastern Bosnia, writes Patria.
