In Sarajevo, Anas Hamadi, a Dubai "businessman" building a luxury settlement Gulfland, was arrested

(Patria) - Anas Hamadi, a Lebanese "businessman" with a Dominican Republic passport, was arrested on Saturday at Sarajevo airport, Istraga.ba has learned

Hamadi was arrested on the basis of an arrest warrant from Germany, issued by the judiciary in Berlin on suspicion of smuggling cocaine together with his brother Nidal Hamadi and then laundering the proceeds from drug sales. Germany issued an arrest warrant for Hamadi in connection with a case from 2011 and 2012, when this "businessman" was active in Berlin.

Anas Hamadi then moved to Dubai, from where he flew to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday morning. After landing in Sarajevo, BiH Border Police officers first identified him and then arrested him. According to Istraga's information, Anas Hamadi had a construction business in Bosnia and Herzegovina, i.e., he was building residential buildings as part of the Gulfland Residence Sarajevo project.

According to Istraga's information, Anas Hamadi was supposed to meet in Sarajevo with Ajdin Brković, the owner of the company Monetize, who was previously reported by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs for fraud and deception in business.

Who is Anas Hamadi?

Anas Hamadi was born in July 1988 in Lebanon. He lived part of his life in Berlin, where he was under investigation by the German judiciary on suspicion of smuggling large quantities of cocaine. He then fled to Dubai, where he co-founded the company Gulfland in 2014.

- It is a fast-growing real estate company within MAZ Investments. Founded in 2014 and led by Chairman and CEO Shaher Mousli, the company specializes in luxury villas, townhouses, and branded residences. Their portfolio includes projects such as Paradise Hills and Serenity Lakes, as well as a partnership with Tonino Lamborghini Residences. Known for design quality, timely delivery, and prime locations, Gulf Land has earned accolades, including the International Property Award. It continues to build a strong reputation in Dubai's competitive real estate market - according to the official website of this company.

Anas Hamadi leads the luxury real estate sales team and is also mentioned as the company's vice president responsible for sales. This company operates in Portugal, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They have realized several projects with Tonino Lamborghini, a member of the Italian family that founded the Lamborghini sports car manufacturing company.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Anas Hamadi does not appear as a founder. However, since the beginning of November 2023, the company "Gulf Land Property Developers" d.o.o. Sarajevo has been operating in BiH, registered at ul. Bihaćka number 18. The owner of the company is Mouseli Chadiz. He is also the director of the company. His deputy is Nidal Hamadi, the brother of the arrested Anas Hamadi.

This alleged project is to be realized in Olovska Street in the Hrasno settlement in Sarajevo. The official website of the Sarajevo branch of this company states that construction will be completed in 2027.

- The arrival of Gulf Land Property Developers in Sarajevo represents an important moment for the local real estate market. The company, known for developing luxury projects in Dubai, has decided to open an office in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina to be closer to clients from the region who are increasingly showing interest in investing in premium real estate. Sarajevo was chosen as a strategic center due to its demand for investment opportunities, the growing number of buyers considering living or investing in the UAE, and the fact that the Balkan market is showing strong growth in terms of purchasing real estate abroad - according to the company's website, whose co-founder was arrested on Saturday at Sarajevo airport on suspicion of smuggling large quantities of cocaine in Germany.
