In Sarajevo 198 new infections, one person died

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of KS, 198 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in Sarajevo Canton yesterday, after laboratory testing of 1,164 samples. In the same period, 168 people recovered. One person died from the consequences of this infection.

Currently, 151 patients are hospitalized, of whom 138 have acute infections, while the others have post-COVID or are under observation/triage.

The proportion of vaccinated people among the hospitalized is 13.25 percent.

76 patients are being treated at the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, and 75 at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš”. Eight people are on ventilators, and 16 patients are using non-invasive ventilation. 10 patients are on oxygen support.

Sarajevo Canton currently records 1,530 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Currently, 2,542 people are in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 64,733 people infected with coronavirus have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, and 61,694 have recovered.

"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 154, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 256", according to data from the Public Health Institute of KS.

404 patients were examined in the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom seven were transported to hospital treatment. 992 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and Semizovac operate every day from 07:30 to 20:00.

The Covid call center recorded 522 calls, and 231 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in the Covid outpatient clinics.

During the past day, a total of 688 vaccine doses were administered in the health centers in KS.

The Ministry of Health of KS once again calls on citizens to get vaccinated to protect their health and the health of those around them. This ministry and health institutions thank citizens for their cooperation and call on them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
