In Sarajevos Trams Occurs At Least One Incident Every Month

The Sarajevo police register at least one incident every month that occurs in public transport in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

Drivers and passengers are targeted by hooligans, who are attacked by unruly youths without any provocation.

Drunk youths attacked passengers on Sunday evening in a tram traveling from Nedžarići to Stup. Four people sought medical attention in the incident.

At the end of October, an incident also occurred in a tram at Čengić Vila, in which the vehicle's windshield was also broken.

In September, citizens overpowered a pickpocket on a tram.

Pickpockets "lurk" passengers on trams daily, but only a small number of citizens report the incident to the police, or the incident becomes known if passengers clash with pickpockets.

In January, a tram driver near the Secondary Technical School in Sarajevo was physically assaulted by a passenger, after which the driver had to seek medical attention at the Emergency Medicine Clinic.

At the end of last year, inspectors on a tram saved a young man from an attack by hooligans who tried to take his money.

The most serious incident in public transport in Sarajevo occurred on February 5, 2008, when hooligans attacked minor Denis Mrnjavac on a tram, from whose injuries the boy died the next day, reports NAP.
