In Prijedor, houses are endangered, water carried away a car, the driver barely escaped

(Patria) - A real drama unfolded today in front of the eyes of desperate residents in Mahmuta Bušatlije Street in Prijedor. Namely, the water, which reached almost to their front doors, or as they desperately say "up to their throats", at one point pulled away a Golf and its driver.

"It all happened half an hour ago in Mahmuta Bušatlije Street in the Gomjenica settlement of Prijedor. The young man in the Golf, who was carried away by the water, almost died before our eyes! He barely got out with our help, and the Golf 5 is in the water," testifies a resident to "Nezavisne novine", who is currently afraid that the water will enter her house.

She testifies that the same thing happens every year.

"City authorities are not reacting to our problem, the water is at the entrance! It's useless to call them to bring pumps or an excavator to dig," she adds, stating that the residents don't know what to do, that they have called and appealed, but that help is not coming.

The seriousness of the situation is also shown by the fact that the water carried away the car and the young man barely got out alive.

"The water is almost in the house, no one wants to come out and help," say the desperate residents, adding that it is still raining and night is falling.
