In Preševo more than 4,000 migrants, an additional camp is being built

In the village of Miratovac near Preševo, there are more than 4,000 people who have crossed from Macedonia to Serbia, and the Minister of Defense Bratislav Gašić stated that an additional camp will be built for their reception, reports the BH news agency Patria.

In Miratovac, the Preševo Health Center and the Red Cross, police and gendarmerie, the army, and all others are helping together, all with one task: to provide humane treatment for these people, meaning they receive food and medical assistance and continue their journey from there.

The minister said that additional medical teams and electricity will be provided in Miratovac so that they are not in the dark, but also so that the state can monitor the situation.

Gašić emphasized that the border crossings are passable and that there are no problems for all those passing through Serbia and for our people returning from Greece.

A wave of migrants is also expected in the next day or two, and they will need food, water, and other supplies.

A group of about 2,000 migrants arrived in Preševo during the night via the Miratovac crossing, and a queue of more than half a kilometer formed in front of the Reception Center in Preševo. This is the group that crossed the cordon of the Macedonian police and army on Saturday evening.

From 7 PM to midnight, more than 50 buses full of migrants left Gevgelija and headed towards Tabanovce, i.e., towards the border with Serbia.

 

 

 

 

A larger number of migrants crossed the Serbian-Macedonian border in the previous 12 hours, and more than 1,500 people have been registered who expressed their intention to seek asylum in Serbia, stated the Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojša Stefanović today, who emphasized that the security situation is stable.
